I have loved designing with fabric since the age of nine. My life in the high desert of New Mexico offers a subtle symphony of colors and textures to stimulate the creation of new designs, new techniques. My quilting community offers support, friendship and teaching. I am a retired educator and writer who enjoys creativity in all dimensions of my life.

My quilts are primarily wall hangings, along with some functional items such as table runners, hotpads, etc. Contemporary quilts engage my fascination with design, abstraction, colors, textures and embellishments.
Imagery and mastery of techniques are my tools.
I have been juried into local , regional and national shows.
I am especially inspired by the stories of women from various cultures and experiences. I began with a tribute to the more than 400 women of Juarez, Mexico who were lost to violence from drug cartels. Others include a flamenco dancer, Native American shawl dancer, and a Folkoricio dancer from Jalisco, Mexico. I hope to evoke feelings and emotions through my creations.

Coming soon -
New Mexico Cancer Center
November - February

"Masquerade Magic" celebrates the color and images of Mardi Gras. It features hexagons and blocks arranged to create movement through color. It was juried into American Quilting Society shows nationally. $950.00

I will never forget the sounds and emotions experienced watching Maria Benitez dance in a private ballroom of the La Fonda Hotel on wooden floors.
She lives in a friend's beautiful home.

Whitling Dervish is a favorite. It has 84 different fabrics and colors in the design. The construction was challenging, but the resulting movement within the quilt is fantastic.
I think I will keep this one.
